PRE-K HOMEWORK
Week of January 30, 2012
Letters and
Numbers:
Homework : We will review the letters A-O.
Handwriting practice of the letters A-O. Matching numbers
with the corresponding number of objects 1-10. Homework will also be
on shape patterns by finding the next shape in the pattern. We
will also review the letters A-O and match the letter with the
object.
Other:
In Math, we are learning number 15 and reviewing numbers 11-14
for order, recognition, and matching with corresponding number of
objects. We are daily working with the calendar and learning
what the day of the week is by number and name. Also the
name of the month we are in and recognizing what is today, what is
tomorrow and what was yesterday. We are matching numbers with
objects 11-15. We are reviewing the shapes: circle, square,
triangle, and rectangle. Understanding the number of sides and
angles each has. We will also continue to work on patterns of shapes
and manipulatives.
In Religion, we will continue to review the sign of the
cross (using the correct hand), our Pre-K meal prayer, the Our
Father, the Hail Mary, the Glory Be and learning our Guardian Angel
Prayer. We will be learning about the Ten Commandments and
Jesus' miracles. We are also learning a song Jesus Loves Me.
We will begin working on our Easter play. We will read stories
about following Jesus and how he chose his disciples.
In Art, we are making our shape trains. We are also making gifts
for our grandparents and groundhog day puppets.
In Reading, we will read Max the Cat. Students are reading
orally the first two pages to the class. We will also begin
reading stories about Jesus' Miracles and the Easter Story.
In Science, we will continue to monitor the
night sky and observe the phases of the moon. We will also
continue to observe the changes in the weather. We are making
snow and investigating the melting processes.
In Religion, we will also learn about the Ten
Commandments and how we can follow God's laws. We will discuss the
Easter Story and how we are portraying it in our play.
We will continue to review our word list, our
rhyming word list, and spelling words.
