Sacrament
of Baptism
There is a Baptismal preparation class that parents and godparents
must attend before Baptisms are schedule. Baptisms are celebrated
after the noon Mass on the third weekend of the month, and are done
by the deacon assisting with that Mass. The parents of the child
to be baptized must have been registered, practicing Catholics for
at least 6 months prior to scheduling the Baptism. For more information,
please call the Religious Education Office.
Sacrament
of Marriage
Please arrange with the Pastor or deacon, at least 6 months in advance
of wedding for Marriage Preparation Class, and to assure all required
documents are completed. You must already be a registered parishioner
(6 months minimum) to hold a wedding here.
Sacrament
of the Sick
Please contact the rectory when you, or a relative are sick and
in need of anointing, wish to be included in the Sunday intentions,
or are homebound and would like to receive the Eucharist.
SERVICES
Spiritual Center
Ms. Gwen Olive offers Pastoral Counseling using psychological principals
and a spirityal background. An opportunity to walk with someone
in your life-spirtual journey. Session are conducted in the rectory
and are confidential. Charges are based on a sliding scale. (301-717-6069)
Catholic Inquiry Sessions
Non-Catholics interested in learning about the Catholic faith and
Catholics interested in learning more about their faith are invited
to attend these sessions; every Thursday (except 2nd Thursday of
each month). Call the rectory office for more information.
Cry/Toddler Room
For the convenience of parents and young children, the cry room
has windows to see into the church, speaker system to hear the Mass,
and sound absorbing panels to confine sounds into the cry room.
Please do not pacify children in the foyer – sounds echo into the
church. This enables the parent, priest, and congregation to more
prayerfully and attentively follow the Mass.
New Parishioners
Welcome to our parish community. We encourage you to become actively
involved members of the parish. In order to participate in the sacraments
of Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation, and Matrimony, it is
necessary that you register. Verification Letter requests for Godparents
and Confirmation Sponsors require that you be registered for at
least 6 months. Welcome packets can be found in the bulletin rack.
