Registration for 2008/2009 Religious Education classes has begin. If you are registered in this parish, use your envelopes, and attend Mass regularly, you may qualify for a discount. Letters from Paul: Of the twenty seven books in the New Testament, nearly half are letters written by Paul. Pick up a copy of the May/June issue of the Liguorian and learn more about who Paul was, and how to read his letters. These and other faith-oriented publications can be purchased from the magazine rack in the church foyer.

What are today's readings? The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has the complete Bible (New American Bible-NAB) online, along with daily readings, video reflections on the readings and podcasts - hear the readings : www.usccb.org/nab/.

8th grade Community Ministry Service Projects: Our Community Ministry Service Project coordinator is Mrs. Clarissa Maroon-Lango. Her email address service@stjos.org. Everyone has now completed their projects. If you are the parent of a 7th grade student and wish to find out advance information, please feel free to contact us. As you complete your project, (or portions of the project such as Nursing Home visits) be sure to get a Community Ministry Service Form signed by the adult supervisor at the project

Grade 8 – Confirmation. Two years of preparation. Our Confirmandi are very close to the their goal of being sealed with the gifts of the Holy Spirit! Every student has completed their Community Ministry Service Projects. On April 26, we visited the Pope John Paul II Cultural Center for a day of retreat and reflection, led by very competent guides, Catholic University grad students, under the direction of Br Joseph Britt. The students enjoyed the exhibits and activities, while reflecting on the Seven Gifts of the Holy Spirit. On Wednesday, May 7 each Candidate, accompanied by a parent, is scheduled for an interview with one of the parish clergy to determine his/her readiness to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
